Golden Eagle


We often see a pair of Golden Eagles soaring around here, taking advantage of the wind to wing their way around the sky. Although they are large birds, it is very difficult to get a good photo of them, but that doesn't mean I don't try. I have taken probably a hundred or more photos of the Golden Eagles this summer - this is a normal "good" photo. Note that this is a small cropped area of one photo, about 1/16 of the actualy photo - otherwise the bird would just show up as a speck.

This is a collage of some of the cropped photos. You can see that the birds are generally a bit fuzzy and indistinct because they are really too far away to get a good image.

But wow - this was a lucky shot!!! You can actually see some of the golden brown colouration of the feathers in this photo. I was chuffed to bits about this one!!!
