Still more snow.... (over 300 cm now)

Here in Ontario, it's more snowy than out west but not as cold. With that intro, I hope you enjoy this winter poem.

SASKATCHEWAN POEM
It's winter in Saskatchewan
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Saskatchewan
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
could never leave Saskatchewan
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

A beautiful frost

Saturday, Feb 23, 2008 - a beautiful thick hoar frost covered everything

The sun was strong enough that the frost was falling off the tree already at 8am... (note the white specks in the sky - you may have to look at the bigger photo to see it).

Very pretty

The sunset was so beautiful, that Tawny even wanted to stop and look at it.

Snow, snow and more snow

Feb 13, 2008 - After 10 cm of snow the previous night, we have now received 290 cm of the white stuff this winter.

What do you call a dog with no legs? It doesn't matter, it won't come anyway.

Hunting for the kong

Sunday February 10, 2008

Tawny loves playing fetch with the Kong, even in the deep snow. This means that she has to bound through the deep snow and that is really comical to see -- it looks like the head of an undulating snow serpeant. Once she gets to the kong, sometimes she can't find it right away and all you can see is her head buried in the snow and her tail waving vigourously!
