We saw a lot of wildlife sightings when we took Tawny for her walk on Sunday morning.
First, we saw this young rabbit. I took a series of photos as we were walking closer trying not to alarm the rabbit. It was hot and humid, and as Tawny had already had a play with Vasha, we decided to walk around the lake instead so that Tawny could go swimming.
As we were walking around the lake, we came across two deer that ran into the bush. Tawny chased them of course, but she had no chance of catching them because they are far faster than her.
Then we saw the pair of loons that have made this lake their home. Their young ones must have moved on already.
And then in the afternoon, we saw a number of garter snakes sunning themselves on the rocks, etc. I was trying to get a good photo of this big one but it kept slithering away so I would get a good photo of its tail. Because it was so good at slitherin', maybe I should call this snake "Harry Potter"!
This is a house blog once again. It is also an occasional dog blog, flower blog, and bird or other creatures blog...

Pano - July 15-16
July 15 - picking rocks out of the back yard
July 15 - after the rock picking is finished. Notice that you can't really see any white things in the back part of the yard - the white is reflection from the rocks.
This is evidence that although autostitch is pretty amazing, it can't compensate for missing picture information!

Tawny as Sissyphus
Saturday, July 7th, Wolfe Lake (near Westport), ON
Tawny saw a floating plastic bottle, and decided to pick it up and take it to shore. What she didn't know was that plastic bottle held a rope attached to some big chunks of concrete, and boats use tie up to that rope to use it as an anchor . This makes swimming with that floating plastic bottle quite a Sissyphusian task...
Yes, she did give up after a while.
You can also tell in this photo that it was raining quite hard. This was our first rain in about a month so it was most welcomed.
