PHOTOS: Ottawa's fall colours

Snow started falling in Ottawa last weekend, but for a few more days the fall season's reds and golds will linger around and line the sidewalks.

This slideshow, narrated by CBC Ottawa's weather specialist Ian Black, features some of the best photos sent in from our audience across the Ottawa area this fall.

There are a few days left of fall weather, Black said, so enjoy it while you can.

This is Freda's photo of the young Chickadee on tv - her second photo. This is the 12th photo that I've submitted that's been on tv. I see that I have missed posting about #10 and #11 due to the ISP outage that we had. I will try to catch up...

On TV, take 9

I didn't have the camera ready for the tv pictures this day, because I wasn't expecting my photo to be on. However, this photo of a pair of Northern Bluets did air on August 25th.

This is a pair of Northern Bluets (a damselfly, sometimes confused with a dragonfly), completing the mating and egg laying process. The female is on the bottom, laying her eggs on the vegetation,

Both of the weather photos on CBC TV tonight were submitted by me... The sunset photo has Freda and Tawny in it, but you can't see it.

My photo of a bee on a cactus flower (just posted on Saturday). Ian Black is on holidays, so the weather was done by Teri Loretto.

The 2nd photo was a foggy morning on a golf course - very pretty!

Transformations on TV - take 5!

The theme of todays "weather photos" was transformations. These are the caterpillars of the monarch butterflies. They only eat milkweed, which is why I don't pull out the milkweed. I actually haven't seen any monarch caterpillars this year, and have only seen two monarch butterflies.

My photo of the almost complete tadpole transformation into a frog was also shown.

My Mama feeding the baby robins photo made it to the CBC weather photos with Ian Black.

Ian has started doing some goofy comedic things during the photo segment. It's very amusing sometimes. Here he is trying to mimic a baby robin... :)

Ian Black, the weather presenter from CBC TV, showed my photo of the chipmunk in today's weather segment. He even repeated my comment that it reminded me of a Beatrix Potter illustration. :)
